AIC is 2018 Retrofit Project of the Year Winner

Not only did AIC win “Custom Home of the Year $50,000 – $150,000”, we won “Retrofit Project of the Year Above $50,000” at the CES Mark of Excellence Awards Ceremony!

The Mark of Excellence System Integrator Awards Program recognizes the best in custom integration and installed technology. We are very excited to have won two different categories and are humbled by the awards!

This custom retrofit was unique in more ways then one.

The homeowners wanted a completely revamped Home Automation System but were also victims of Hurricane Mathew which caused massive water damage to the main floor of the home. Since the majority of the electronics were destroyed , AIC had to start from scratch using most of the existing wiring. This caused some issues since the previous Lighting and Automation System were no longer in existence and the TV’s were all distributed using outdated component video cabling.

AIC retrofitted a Lutron QS Lighting and HVAC system having to dismantle and use existing enclosures previously installed to overcome the space and wiring limitations. To fully automate the home AIC was able to incorporate IP Cameras where the original analog cameras once existed and utilized the front and rear photoelectric beams to also trigger lighting and doorbell events.

The existing Home Theater Room, the distributed HDTV’s and Audio Systems were all upgraded using Autonomics and Sony 4K technology and controlled through the new Elan System giving the home complete automation. This system has the flexibility to use any combination of mobile devices, WIFI remotes, and/or voice control through Alexa.
