Wallpaper TVs?

Arguably OLED TVs are the next craze and it’s no surprise why 4K OLED TVs are the most talked about products in the television industry. Back in October LG announced The First Big Screen 4K UltraHD TV with OLED compatibility.

This type of technology has an organic compound layer that allows for exceptionally thin screens for those new curved TVs. The organic material also emits its own light, eliminating the need for a backlight. Which is big for wearable smart technology devices. Furthermore, we mentioned in our article Upcoming Smart Home Trends, that flexible displays will allow such ultra thin TV options that you’ll literally be able to roll up your television like a newspaper.

Well, that idea will be coming quicker than you think! On Tuesday LG announced the wallpaper TV. This 55-inch OLED display weighs just over 4 pound and is less than a millimeter thick! Due to its magnetic mat that sits behind it on the wall, the TV can be stuck to a wall. To remove the display from the wall, you peel the screen off the mat. What do you think about that?

Granted, with the unveiling of this “wallpaper” TV, LG says it’ll probably be 5 years or more before the public is able to get their hands on this nifty product. Either way, the idea is still pretty neat and soon you’ll be able to take your TV anywhere. Which is a good thing because OLED TVs aren’t cheap.
